Stephen is an award winning and best-selling author of crime novels set in Derbyshire. Stephen, a former journalist for over 27 years, has worked on various newspapers and magazines including the Wilmslow Advertiser, the Huddersfield Examiner, and the Worksop Guardian. He also worked as a sub-editor for the Daily Express and The Guardian, but gave this up in 2001 to be a full-time novelist, and has written a series of 18 books based on detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry. Four of these have recently been televised on Channel 5. Stephen has also written stand alone ‘Drowned Lives’ and ‘Top Hard’, plus a novella featuring Ben Cooper, called ‘Claws’. Stephen’s books are best-sellers in the UK and America, and avid readers have been known to travel from the USA to visit the locations in his books.
